Are you interested in strategies for civic tech development? Join our challenge to address the needs defined by the 16th Susutainable Development Goal: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
CHALLENGE 1: FACT-CHECKING ASSISTANT
There are plenty of great civic tech tools available (such as for example Check, a fact-checking platform), but few of them integrate ideally well into the workflows of individual activists and NGOs. Your challenge is to create a tool that would allow NGOs to use the content they generate more effectively.
CHALLENGE 2: VISUALIZATION MAPS FOR NGOS
Some type of central data visualisation tool that could be used easily for civic tech purposes. For example, a map of Poland where you could highlight different regions and integrate it with an interactive chart. There are surprisingly few high-quality map generators online that are available for free and whose output you can use easily without encountering any copyright issues. Creating one that is fully open source and free for all commercial use would be super useful for NGOs that don’t have the legal capacity to review other free tools available online.
